Time-Independent Rule-Based Guideline Induction
نویسنده
چکیده
Whereas decision trees are widely studied in the context of knowledge representation and inductive learning, guidelines can be considered as an extension of decision trees that have not received the same amount of attention in the artificial intelligence community, even though they have been proved highly useful in several decision support problems as the therapy process in health-care. This paper is about the formal definition of guidelines as a rulebased knowledge structure and also about the introduction of an incremental inductive learning algorithm to develop and update timeindependent guidelines. These ideas have been tested in the healthcare domain of some heart diseases.

Rule-based of Monetary Policy in Iran Inspired by McCallum Rule
Economists have reached a consensus that an independent central bank could improve its policy efficiency by following a monetary policy rule. One of the important rules is McCallum rule where that requires central banks to target the growth rate of nominal GDP using the monetary base as its instrument. One of the features of the McCallum rule uses the monetary base rather than the interest rate...
متن کاملA Dynamic Level-k Model in Centipede Games
Backward induction is the most widely accepted principle for predicting behavior in dynamic games. In experiments, however, players frequently violate this principle. An alternative is a 2-parameter “dynamic level-k” model, where players choose a rule from a rule hierarchy. The rule hierarchy is iteratively defined such that the level-k rule is a best-response to the level-(k − 1) rule and the ...
متن کاملEfficient Web Usage Miner Using Decisive Induction Rules
Problem statement: Web usage mining is the technique of extracting useful information from server logs (user’s history) and finding out what users are looking for on the Internet. This type of web mining allows for the collection of Web access data for Web pages. Scope: The web usage data provides the paths leading to accessed Web pages with prefrences and higher priorities. This information is...

متن کاملRough-Set based Criteria for Incremental Rule Induction
This paper proposes a new framework for incremental learning based on accuracy and coverage. Classified addition of example into four cases, two inequalities for accuracy and coverage are obtained. The proposed method classifies a set of formulae into three layers: rule layer, subrule layer and non-rule layer by using the inequalities obtained. Then, subrule layer plays a central role in updati...
متن کاملAn Extended Genetic Rule Induction Algorithm
This paper describes an extension of a GAbased, separate-and-conquer propositional rule induction algorithm called SIA [24]. While the original algorithm is computationally attractive and is also able to handle both nominal and continuous attributes efficiently, our algorithm further improves it by taking into account of the recent advances in the rule induction and evolutionary computation com...
